Only 15 hours after KidzWish puts on the biggest Christmas Party of its kind in Regional Australia, KidzWish presented Wollongong’s Premier Event - the 2011 KidzWish Annual Charity Ball, which is proudly supported by Finance Control.
On Friday 25 November 2011, over 750 corporate guests, which included the business leaders of Wollongong, attended this year’s Charity Ball - helping to raise much needed funds for all sick, disabled and disadvantaged children who live in the Illawarra region.
KidzWish Executive Director, Chris Beaven commented: “The 2011 KidzWish Annual Charity Ball was bigger and better than ever before. The evening included performances by Damien Leith, Justice Crew and the Geoff Harvey Big Band along with an exciting stage adaptation of Mary Poppins. Richard Wilkins hosted the night.”
In 2010, the Charity Ball raised more than $91,000 through raffles, auctions, ticket sales and sponsorship. In 2011, KidzWish were looking to raise over $100,000, which will go towards KidzWish Programs set up here in the Illawarra, filling gaps that government are unable to provide.
KidzWish received $20,000 through sponsorship from Finance Control for the event.
Finance Control Director, Paul Rawson says “Finance Control is very proud to be the major sponsor the KidzWish Charity Ball. This was our 5th year of involvement and as each year passes by we get a greater appreciation of how important KidzWish is to so many local families.”
He adds “Each year the Ball sets a new benchmark as the premier event on the Illawarra social calendar and we know that everyone will enjoy a fantastic evening.”
Guests enjoyed a variety of performances from international stars and were also shown how their contributions throughout the year have changed the lives of so many local special children.
