KidzWish launched a new fundraising campaign titled ‘Grant a local Kidz Wish’ which will help send over 3200 sick, disabled and disadvantaged children to the Stockland KidzWish Christmas Party for Special Children.
On Tuesday 5 July 2011, at Chifley Wollongong, KidzWish launched their new ‘Grant a local Kidz Wish’ fundraising campaign to raise money for the special children in the Illawarra.
The ‘Grant a local Kidz Wish’ fundraising campaign is championed by KidzWish Child Ambassador Noah Southall, KidzWish Ambassador & Wollongong ahm Hawks captain Mat Campbell and loyal KidzWish supporter Max Luckman.
KidzWish Child Ambassador Noah Southall said my wish is to go to the amazing Stockland KidzWish Christmas Party for Special Children, which is held at the WIN Entertainment Centre. It's for local sick, disabled and disadvantaged children here in the Illawarra.
Mr Southall said I look forward to it all year because we get McDonalds for lunch, an amazing toy, a goodie bag, an ice-cream, fantastic entertainment and I get to spend the day with my special friends that I will remember forever.
KidzWish General Manager Simon Davie said children like Noah can face continual challenges every day. Despite their difficulties, they have an attitude that is an inspiration to everyone who meets them. Their passion is infectious and although we can't always extend the life of every child, we can always do our part to bring them love and laughter.
Mr Davie said by Granting a local Kidz Wish you can be a part of their happiness and make a real difference to someone like Noah.
He said "The Stockland KidzWish Christmas Party for Special Children is an annual event and it has grown each of its seven years and in 2011 the WIN Entertainment Centre will be filled with 3500 local sick, disabled and disadvantaged children, which makes it the largest event of its kind in regional Australia, and the 5th largest in the Southern Hemisphere."
“The Christmas Party is an amazing event and we pride ourselves on giving each child an unforgettable day. This year we are calling on the Illawarra community to grant the wishes for thousands of local special children whose wishes are to attend this amazing Christmas Party. We need the Illawarra community to get involved and Grant a local Kidz Wish. All the special children that attend the Stockland KidzWish Christmas Party live in the Illawarra and it’s our responsibility to help make a difference in the lives of these children” Mr Davie said.
"KidzWish also provides life saving medicine and equipment, as well as onsite Therapy at KidzWish Place. By Granting a local Kidz Wish, you are both enabling a local special child to attend an amazing party that gives them love and laughter, and also importantly freeing up money that can then be spent on providing life changing support" he said
